Death Without Words

This is one of short films that we collaborated with Lemon Jelly Arts on. Lemon Jelly run a variety of classes in dance, drama and musical theatre. Together with the children we made five short films that were recently shown at the Showcase Cinema Delux in Leicester. All five films were shot in the space of a single day which made it an exhausting but engaging experience. The films are entitled:

1. The Gold Bar

2. Hope Falls

3. The Coach Trip

4. Alice, The Painting

5. Death Without Words

The youngsters aged from 4 to 18 all loved watching the films on the big screen along with the full Premier treatment including photographs with the Leicester Mercury and a red carpet! Check out the Mercury’s article by following the link.

It is within this section of the website that I hope to share some of the subjects and ideas that interest me. I am very passionate about both Cinema and Documentary and am interested in making films that cross this boundary.

I strive to make Documentary Films that capture the atmosphere of an event rather than the simple facts and engage with the audience from a cinematic perspective rather than a purely factual one.

Bram Stoker, Whitby & Dracula

Like Bram Stoker and his novel Dracula, this short film was created whilst on holiday with my family in Whitby. Shot entirely on a little handheld camera (and with my one year old daughter on my back) I have tried to do justice to the fantastic location of Whitby, to Bram Stoker and of course to Count Dracula himself.

About Me

Having been an avid hobbyist and professional lecturer in Video Production & Film Studies for a number of years, it was watching the Oscars one night that I realized I needed to get out there and start producing films rather than just teaching and critiquing them.
